Badb is the third sister goddess of the tripartite goddess known as The Morrigan. Like her sisters, Badb is a goddess of war and of the dead. Of the three, it is Badb who most often presents as an old woman, a Crone. Badb is a shapeshifter and goddess of prophecy. She is also a goddess of regeneration and rebirth. Alone of the three sisters, Badb is the keeper of a magic cauldron to which she invites the souls of the slain. Fallen warriors are offered the choice to remain in the Otherworld, or to enter the cauldron and be reborn into earthly life. Her sacred animal is the crow. She's sometimes called Badb Catha, Battle Crow.
